How to cancel Xbox Game Pass and Xbox subscriptions
The steps from Xbox Game Pass and Xbox subscriptions's own help page, in plain English.
Steps
- On the web: go to Subscriptions on your Microsoft account (account.microsoft.com/services) and sign in with the account that bought it.
- Find the subscription, select Manage, then Cancel subscription and follow the instructions.
- On an Xbox console: press the Xbox button, go to Profile & system, Settings, Account, Subscriptions, choose it and select Cancel subscription.
Good to know
- Cancelling turns off recurring billing: you keep the benefits until the date shown, then no more charges.
- Refunds: within 30 days of first buying (or before the first renewal, whichever is sooner), and once per subscription for the latest renewal if you cancel within 30 days of that payment. If you're eligible, you'll see an option to cancel now with a refund.
- See Turn on recurring billing instead of Manage? It's already set to end on the date shown.
- Paying for someone else's subscription? The account owner has to cancel. Billed by another company? Cancel with them.

Keeping it? In MoreBack, Subscriptions shows which of the cards you already hold pays most back on it.
MoreBack is an information tool, not a lender or credit broker. It only compares cards you already hold, and never recommends a new card.
